CINBIO participates in a European project to improve the diagnosis of chronic wound infections

The Heal-4Ward project is a European doctoral network for the advanced care and rapid diagnosis of wound infections, funded by the European Union with 3.3 million euros through the Horizon Europe program and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.

Following its kick-off meeting in Rome, the 48-month initiative brings together ten European partners, including CINBIO at the Universidade de Vigo, integrated in the Cigus Network, to train 11 predoctoral researchers across Europe. At the Universidade de Vigo, the participating team is coordinated by researcher Gustavo Bodelón González from the Functional NanoBioMaterials group (FunNanoBio), directed by Isabel Pastoriza Santos and Jorge Pérez Juste. The team focuses on developing non-invasive 3D bioengineered human skin models and advanced spectroscopy techniques for personalized infection diagnosis and treatment.
