Sara Nuñez Sanchez

Postdoctoral Researcher

  • Education:
Ph.D. from Spanish National Research Council (2010)

Dr. Nunez-Sanchez is an expert on light-matter interactions at the nanoscale with a strong background in functional materials. Her work has been focused on how to incorporate novel functionalities to nanophotonic devices through designed optical properties of materials, including the incorporation of emitter complexes, phase change materials or metal-like molecular materials. Nunez-Sanchez got her PhD in Physics in 2010 at the Spanish National Research Council. She started her career in the UK in 2012 thanks to her own fellowship. Firstly, she joined to Electromagnetic Materials Group in Exeter to finally joining to the Quantum Technology Labs in Bristol as project PI where she explored a novel organic platform inspired by Quantum Biology. In 2017 she jumped into chemistry joining the Colloid Chemistry Group of the University of Vigo looking for new chemistry routes for quantum metamaterials for energy harvesting and novel quantum nanoprobes for medicine.
